Fundraising & Philanthropy
We raise money for our charities throughout the year by planning, organizing, and hosting a variety of events, including club fundraising, and smaller, member-led activities. We also raise funds through direct gives and personal and corporate sponsorship drives for those individuals and companies who want to support our causes financially.
Make Money Grow events are member-driven social activities to raise money for our charities. An individual or group plans an activity with a small investment and then charges a small amount per person to attend. The proceeds are then added to our club funds which will be passed onto our nonprofit charities. We run a number of these events annually which provides members the opportunity to participate in a variety of social activities.
We put the FUN in fundraising! Members have been planning, organizing, and hosting major fundraising events for decades. Some of our most successful events include our legendary Red, White, and Green holiday fundraiser, local fashion shows, black tie galas, trivia nights, wine and hors d’oeuvres nights, and so much more. If you love planning and hosting activities–or like to cook or entertain–this is a wonderful way to put your talents to use to support the greater good.
We also support our top local charities by providing material resources like diapers, blankets, birthday kits, books, and many more items. One Amazon, Walmart, or Target purchase can go a long way to help a local woman, child, or family in need!

Volunteering In Our Community
We engage in a range of volunteer activities in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties including preparing and serving meals, assisting students with reading, mentoring young women, and providing necessities for teachers and students. It can be difficult to find a way to volunteer by yourself. We have connections in our community and support dedicated groups that help fulfill our mission.
Just a few of our club volunteering opportunities include:
- Supporting teachers and students with tutoring, lunches, and material donations
- Cooking, serving, or assisting at Angels & Sparrows
- Preparing and delivering meals at Hope House
- Packing birthday gift bags for children who need it the most with Bridge of Hearts
- Volunteering on one of our internal committees that support our organization
Social Events
Our monthly meetings—held during the day and at night—provide flexibility for those with work commitments or busy schedules. We would love for you to join us for coffee and pastries or lunch or dinner, and come mingle with our members and learn more about our collective mission.
We have many opportunities for fun, including day and night book clubs, canasta, chinese mahjong, pickleball, wine and dine, lunch bunch, art activities, and so much more. If you like to meet new people who care about giving back to the community, we know you’ll have a great time and will likely make some new friends too!
